The Joker on a walnut
Painted by Cochise Ramey
“I've been drawing, painting and crafting things since an early age. I can remember an early example of when I was roughly 5 or 6 years old. I drew a modified version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as dudes with "Flat Tops" (80's reference) and Terminator shades. By 10 I was oil painting with the local Sacramento professional artist at the time. At 13 I painted my first mural. It was a landscape of the Sacramento Valley. It was located at the end of K Street Mall with the new Downtown Mall right across the street. By my Junior year of High School I was helping teach the advanced art class within my High School. Moving on to College I acquired an Fine Arts degree but the school I went to wasn't an "ART" institution. After College I got married and have three amazing children.
Sounds pretty cut and dry right... However, my fairy tale can only be highlighted as such. I've lived through a great deal of set backs. One that I'm currently going through is that I'm a Cancer patient going through chemotherapy treatment. I've reached the point where I have to participate in clinical trials if I want to continue treatment. This is because the FDA approved cancer chemotherapy treatment no longer works so we have to think of alternatives.
I've never really showcased my art. Much less trying to sale it. Mostly because I'm self conscious about my own work. However, desperate times call for desperate measures. This will definitely be a slow process because again I am my own worst critic. Maybe this will open up different opportunities in the future.
Thanks you for taking the time to read a little information about me. My hope is to inspire those that are apprehensive to go all in. Take a chance and try. Something go may come from it.
